Your ride begins by exploring the hidden passageways and winding alleyways of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hoi An Ancient Town. Cross the canal bridge to visit a local family and learn how to make ‘banh dap’ using the traditional method. These small savoury rice flour bowls are a common breakfast staple in the countryside. Continue riding to one of Hoi An’s most beautiful villages, stopping at a local family’s home to learn about the tradition of family chapels. Next, we pedal past rice fields and vegetable farms along small canals and waterways towards a boat building site. Fishing is still the lifeblood of the province and the construction of these boat-works is quite amazing to witness and photograph. The roads narrow again to concrete paths, and we make two stops at a traditional mat weaving shop and a family distillery, where rice wine has been produced in the same manner for generations. Then, take a break and replenish your energy with a homemade lunch of Hoi An specialties, served in a local home. After fueling up, we will cycle along the riverside and board kayaks. Enjoy a paddle past water-coconut plantations, shrimp farms and little fishing hamlets. If you’re lucky, you will get to see the spectacular sight of fishermen emptying their nets. Along the way, we will make a stop at one of the little islands to rest and enjoy the views. Finally, we will arrive at the Cam Thanh area of Hoi An, from where our minivan will bring you back to the hotel.

Departure at 0830, for a half day discovery with a local guide, exploring the ancient town. Explore former merchant homes, colorful communal halls, narrow lanes lined, traditional houses and the iconic Japanese Bridge*. Also visit charming backstreets and tiny alleys to discover lesser-known gems. Meander down a small alley to a hidden temple which is off the tourist radar and explore the only two-storey temple in the town, while listening to the stories of the town during ups and downs. Last but not least, visit Hoi An Folklore Museum to understand the life of the Hoi An’s people. To conclude the cultural exploration, visit a small coffee shop hidden in the small alley, have a sip to their signature drink and wrap up all memories of the tour before getting back to the hotel.
