Explore the Barossa Valley with Taste the Barossa and you will enjoy a day tasting some of the best food and wine in Australia. We start the day at a relaxing 9am picking you up at your accommodation or a pre-arranged point in Adelaide or Glenelg (8.30am). We make our way out of Adelaide through the Adelaide Hills while taking in the beautiful sights along the way. Our first winery is the beautiful and historic Château Yaldara, this is one of the most photographed buildings in South Australia and no trip to the Barossa Valley is complete without getting a photo in front of this iconic building.

Our trip continues with a cruise through some of the most picturesque scenery in the Barossa Valley. We cross the world-famous Jacobs Creek as we head toward the heart of the Barossa Valley, the beautiful and historic township of Tanunda. We have time to wander up the main street and visit some local shops and points of interest, a perfect place to find a souvenir or a coffee.

Lunch is a regional highlight. While we enjoy some of the Barossa’s most internationally acclaimed wines at the beautiful Peter Lehmann winery a platter of the best meats, cheeses, olives, assorted vegetables and freshly baked bread the Barossa Valley has to offer is brought to your table. (There is a great vegetarian regional plate option also)

Stopping to take in in the breath-taking panoramic views of the Barossa from Mengler’s Hill Lookout, we head onwards to our next wine-tasting experience at Lambert Estate Wines. Nestled on top of the Barossa Ranges, this family owned winery showcases a unique range of wines while taking in spectacular views.

We then head to our final destination, Wolf Blass Wines. From humble beginnings Wolfgang Blass has created one of the world’s most iconic wine brands. We enjoy sampling some of his extensive award winning wines with time to explore the state of the art cellar door. This tour blends historical wineries, wonderful regional food, breath taking scenery and the people that make the Barossa Valley a truly world class region, this is a day you are bound to enjoy.

*Taste the McLaren ‘Adelaide Highlights With Wine Tasting and Coast’ Tour
Tour Itinerary:
With pick-up at a leisurely 8.50am – 9.00am at selected points in Adelaide CBD, we start the day with a City Highlights tour. While you get your bearings we’ll show you some of the City of Adelaide’s best sights, offering you an insight into her history and letting you in on some insider secrets, must do’s, places to visit, and the best eateries to enjoy Adelaide’s finest food.

As we head out of the city we’ll drive by and visit the iconic Adelaide Oval (events permitting) and pass through the picturesque North Adelaide suburb where we can enjoy the stunning federation architecture and lavish abodes. Our next stop will offer us a spectacular view of the City of Adelaide from the vantage point of Mount Lofty.
After Mount Lofty lookout, our next stop is Hahndorf! With its abundance of boutique shops and eateries, the German village of Hahndorf is an absolute delight. There’s plenty to explore as you wile away over an hour and a half of free time to do whatever you please.

We’ll meet you back at bus stop 54, on the main street of Hahndorf, where you’ll climb back on board, sit back, relax and enjoy the short and incredibly scenic drive through the beautiful Adelaide Hills on route to the iconic wine tasting region of McLaren Vale. Once in McLaren Vale, our first stop is the stunning Chapel Hill Winery. Have your taste buds primed and your camera poised as your host at Chapel Hill tantalizes you with a wonderful structured wine tasting experience in their picturesque cellar door.

We pass through the stunning McLaren Vale where there will be opportunities to take some iconic photos at famous landmarks. It’s time now to climb back on board before we take the short drive to our next winery – the quaint Shingleback Winery. On this incredibly relaxed tasting you’ll enjoy a structured tasting of Shingleback’s finest wines, and if you’re peckish, you can purchase a cheeseboard to enjoy with your wine. After Shinglebeck, it’s time to head back towards Adelaide. We’re taking the scenic route so you can gaze out at the Adelaide Coastline as we journey towards our final featured destination of the day – Adelaide’s beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg.
