*Risong Bay with Kayaks & Snorkelling Tour
Hidden within Risong Bay’s arm like walls, six secretive pockets of bays and lagoons allow kayaks to easily pass through tunnel entrances to shallow lakes and bays where speed boats just can’t reach. For millennia, these bays have served as nurseries for baby sharks, stingrays, and eagle rays. As we paddle quietly among’st these youngsters, they hone their hunting and feeding skills before they graduate to the outer reef. Our Risong tours also take you to pristine coral gardens such as Blue Devil Gardens and the Sunken City. Undisturbed by divers or fisherman, these habitats are rich marine biodiversity centers bursting with baby butterfly fish, honeycomb groupers, and the unusual crocodile fish. The tranquil waters of Risong Bay also allow us to explore the unusual botanical wonders of our remote archipelago.

We provide pick up and drop off services, lunch, a cooler of soft drinks, an igloo of cold water, Naturalist Guide, Boat Captain, and a full day of kayaking, snorkeling, and exploring the islands of Palau.

After your pick up and the briefing done by the Guide the departure ranges between 8:30am to 9am and Return time is between 4:00pm-5:00pm

Government required permits:
Please note that the Koror State Government requires all visitors to have a permit for any water tour activity. The regular Rock Island permit cost $50.00 per person is already included in your tour. If you’re planning to visit Jellyfish Lake during your visit in Palau, we recommend buying Jellyfish Lake permit $100.00 per person which covers both Rock Islands and Jellyfish Lake. Both permits are valid for 5 consecutive days from the date you receive it. Please ask our friendly travel experts should you wish to upgrade your permit.

Snorkeling equipment:
Please note guests will need to pay for their snorkeling equipment directly which is $10.00 per person.

Tips on what to bring on the tour:
1. Rashguard with a high SPF rating to wear for snorkeling, swimming, and paddling.
2. Underwater camera. You’ll want to record your epic adventures as well, and thus we’ll recommend Go Pros or similar waterproof cameras. Palau’s climate is very tough on sensitive electronics, so be cautious with an SLR.
3. Lightweight Hat. Brim hat for the sun (with strap). Hats with capes over the neck offer much-needed sun protection.
4. Sunglasses. Polarized shades are ideal for blocking the bright sun.
5. Sun screen. On January 1st, 2020 Palau became the first country to ban sunscreen that is known or suspected to be reef-toxic. Only mineral sunscreens that exclusively list zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide as their active ingredients and do not contain parabens, triclosan, triclocarban, or phenoxyethanol are allowed. All sunscreens manufactured by members of the Safe Sunscreen Council meet Palau’s sunscreen requirements. The sun can be very intense—be sure to bring enough. Unsure about your sunscreen? You can always purchase right here on the island!
6. Waterproof Bag. Protect your personal items from getting wet.
7. Good Foot Protection. This is important as some sites is not barefoot friendly. We prefer toe protected Keens over open toed Tevas.
8. Water bottle. Please bring your own water bottle as we’ll have a water in an igloo on the boat. Refill is available on the boat.
9. Snorkeling gears. We have snorkeling gears available for rent but you are welcome to bring your own mask, snorkel, and fins.
10. Waterproof case for your mobile phones

Cancellation Charges
Please note, cancelled bookings will incur charges. Our travel service providers are entitled to impose cancellation charges, which can be up to 100% of the amount paid to them for the relevant service, regardless of whether travel has commenced. If any refunds are received from travel service providers, they will be passed on to you, less a minimum cancellation fee. Please refer to the Cancellation Policy on general terms & conditions.
