The best time to visit depends on where you’re headed. For Perth and the Southwest, go between September and April for warm, sunny days. For the Northwest and Kimberley, the dry season from May to October offers ideal weather for exploring.

Whale watching season runs from May to December, with the best spots including Augusta, Dunsborough and Albany in the Southwest, and Exmouth in the Northwest for humpback and blue whale sightings.
You can reach Rottnest Island via a short ferry ride from Perth, Fremantle or Hillary’s Boat Harbour. The best time to visit is between October and April, when the weather is warm and perfect for swimming, cycling and meeting the island’s famous quokkas.
