Settle in and relax after your journey, or head out and get your first feel for the vibrant energy of Hanoi.

Travel through rural landscapes once used as Viet Cong strongholds on your way to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Learn about life underground during the Vietnam War through an introductory film, and discover how this vast network served as living quarters, supply routes and hospitals, playing a key role in events such as the 1968 Tet Offensive. Continue through the countryside to an organic farm, where you’ll gain insight into farm to table practices, local produce and mushroom cultivation, followed by a fresh lunch made largely from farm ingredients. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon to explore key landmarks including the Reunification Palace, Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Dong Khoi Street and the War Remnants Museum. End the day with a drink atop the historic Rex Hotel.

Fly to Da Nang and enjoy a convenient hassle-free transfer to Hoi An. Late afternoon, set out on a guided culinary walk through Hoi An, discovering the flavours that define this historic town. Today, explore more of Hoi An, a former trading port shaped by centuries of international influence from China, Japan and Europe. Today, the town is celebrated for its beautifully preserved architecture, skilled tailors and relaxed, car free streets. Start at the historic Ba Mu Gate before visiting the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, a lasting symbol of cultural exchange. Continue through narrow lanes to a hidden communal house and a traditional merchant home, offering insight into local life through the ages. Visit the Folklore Museum to deepen your understanding of Hoi An’s heritage, then unwind at a tucked away café, reflecting on the town’s timeless charm.

Today is free to enjoy Hoi An at your own pace. You may wish to revisit favourite spots, relax at An Bang Beach, indulge in a spa treatment or take a cooking class to learn the secrets of local cuisine. Alternatively, wander the ancient town once more, stopping at cafés, markets and riverside bars, or simply soak up the relaxed atmosphere that makes Hoi An so special.

Enjoy a leisurely morning at your own pace before transferring to Da Nang Station for a scenic overnight train journey to Hanoi. Travel along the spectacular Hai Van Pass, widely regarded as one of Vietnam’s most beautiful rail routes. As the train winds through coastal and mountain landscapes, relax in comfort and awaken refreshed on arrival in Hanoi early the following day.

After breakfast, travel by shuttle bus to Halong Bay, leaving the bustle of the city behind. Board your luxurious ship and settle in with a welcome drink and onboard briefing. Set sail through UNESCO-listed Halong Bay while enjoying a Vietnamese inspired lunch. Visit Surprising Cave (Sung Sot), the bay’s largest and most impressive cave, followed by a trip to Titov Island, where you can hike to a panoramic viewpoint or relax with a swim at the beach. Return to the cruise in time to enjoy the sunset, join a spring roll cooking demonstration, and finish the day with dinner on board.

Start the day with Tai Chi on the sundeck as the sun rises over Halong Bay. Enjoy a final brunch on board before returning to the harbour and continuing on to Hanoi, where you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight back home.
